ENFI Beijing Office on 12 October 2019 – Following the Groundbreaking Ceremony on 15 June 2019, PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (PT CNI) and China ENFI Engineering Corporation (ENFI) have entered into an Engineering, Procurement, Construction or EPC agreement, specifically Procurement Contract for 3 phases or 4 production lines of Rotary-Kiln Electric Furnace or RKEF smelter worth IDR 5.3 trillion out of the total project capital investment of IDR 14.5 trillion of 4x72MVA RKEF Project.
Derian Sakmiwata, President Director of PT CNI, along with Wei Jia Ming, Vice President of ENFI and Li Min, Deputy Manager of Metallurgy & Chemical Engineering of ENFI, signed the Procurement Contract in ENFI’s office Beijing, China on 12 October 2019. The signing of the contract is the completion of a year long journey of negotiations process of EPC Agreement. It marks a significant milestone to celebrate and will be the first of many more milestones to come.

The smelter will have a feed capacity of 5,000,000 tons of Nickel ore and an estimated production capacity of 230,000 tons of Ferronickel per year, containing 22% Nickel metal or equivalent to 50,600 tons of Nickel. ENFI has concluded the procurement documents to supply PT CNI with equipment for 4 RKEF Production lines, prior to the signing of this EPC agreement. Total investment of the project is IDR 14.5 trillion, includes the initial working capital, pre-construction works, credit insurance premium, and contingency.
Construction of the project will be using a rectangular RKEF, the first of its kind in Indonesia, expected to complete in 2021. Tendering and Procurement of all the equipment are underway, ENFI has also signed a joint agreement with a reputable state-owned EPC contractor, PT PP (TBK) Persero EPC Division, to conclude land preparation and infrastructure of the project.
The Procurement Agreement is part of the EPC agreement. Next stage will be to enter to Construction & Installation agreement which will be signed this coming Friday, 18 October 2019. Once equipment procurement is completed, PT CNI and EPC Contractors will advance to smelter construction at the planned location in Wolo, Sub-district Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi.
