PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria) has signed a Framework Agreement with Chinese international contractors ENFI for the constructions of ferronickel smelter, power plant and supporting facilities on Tuesday (30/10) in Jakarta.
“The framework agreement will be followed up with an engineering, procurement and construction of EPC agreement in December and EPC works will start in January 2019,” said Derian Sakmiwata, President Director of PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria).
“These two contractors have sound engineering capabilities and years of experience in smelter and power plant constructions worldwide. We are confident that working with these two reputable contractors will allow us to complete our $705 million worth smelter project timely in accordance with the Indonesian government regulation,” said Derian.
China ENFI Engineering Corporation is an international engineering company with specialization in project integration, new energy and resource development with proven global experience including the construction of a rotary kiln-electric furnace (RKEF) smelter in Myanmar.
Ceria is wholly owned by Indonesian shareholders. Ceria operates a nickel mining lease permit. Ceria operates a nickel mine and plans to build a smelter under a mining production operation permit located in Wolo sub-district of Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Ceria is developing a ferronickel smelter to produce galvanised and stainless steel; and developing a nickel cobalt processing plant to produce material for rechargeable batteries.
Ceria operates by implementing sustainable development principles. Ceria contributes to the social and economic development of local communities through employment and local business initiatives. Ceria also contribute to state revenues through tax and non-tax payments. From October 2017 to July 2018, Ceria paid IDR 112 billion in taxes and non-taxes.
