KOLAKA, TOPIKSULTRA.COM – PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (CNI) as the holder of the Mining Business Permit Area (WIUP), operating in Wolo sub-district, has received a blue report card in the company performance rating assessment program (Proper) in environmental management developed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) 2020.
The Head of the Forestry and Environment Service Department of Southeast Sulawesi Province, Ansar, admitted that he was impressed with PT CNI, as a new company and it is the first time it has been proposed to KLHK Ministry to obtain an environmental performance assessment, as it turns out the company has gotten a blue report card.” This Proper, in the Government field is the same as Adipura’s assessment,” said Ansar while attending PT CNI integrated EIA (Amdal) public consultation event at the Meeting Hall of Ponre Waru Village, Wolo District, Saturday (6/20/2020).
Proper valuation positions the company to obtain an image / reputation in accordance to its environmental management. The image is valued in gold, green, blue, red and black.
According to him, besides PT CNI there are also several mining companies in Southeast Sulawesi that were proposed, but only PT CNI who has received the Proper assessment.
“Usually when we propose a company to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, no company name will come out (at once). But this proposal, for PT CNI as the WIUP Holder in Wolo District, immediately got good results with Blue Proper,”he said.
According to Ansar’s knowledge, currently, companies in Southeast Sulawesi who have proposed to participate in Proper and have received a blue report card are state-owned companies PT Antam and PT PLN, while PT CNI is the only private company.
“I hope in the future PT CNI will not only get a blue report card but also a gold report card,” he added.
However, according to him, all of this depends on the company’s management under the guidance and supervision of the District Environmental Agency, especially if the public consultation held is considered successful it is a sign that the company is healthy.
“If PT CNI is improving [in the report card], I will inform other companies [that PT CNI] to be used as an example, as well as conducting comparative study at PT CNI,” he said.
