Although we have been operating for 9 months since October 2017, PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria) has spent IDR 6 billion for corporate social responsibility programs (CSR).
“The CSR programs we carry out are a manifestation of our mission to help develop and expand the areas around the mine,” said Derian Sakmiwata, President Director of Ceria.
Ceria commenced operations on the production of nickel ore in October 2017 by exporting to China and nickel ore refining. Furthermore, Ceria also conducts community development and empowerment programs.
“At present the community development and empowerment programs are still focused on increasing public welfare with productive activities in the villages and with the realization of the budget amounting IDR 4 billion up till May 2018,” explained Derian Sakmiwata. In addition, Ceria also carried out a program to empower farmers in Muara Lapaopao Village.
“We are working with the Kolaka Regency Fisheries Office to empower pond farmers in the village of Muara Lapaopao. A total of 300 families joined the program and raised IDR1.8 billion in funds,” Derian added.
Another community empowerment program conducted by Ceria is the development of human resources with around 800 people from villages around the mine. “Empowerment of local workforce by providing training and professional work experience will provide benefits that are beneficial for the community and which enables them to pursue a career anywhere,” said Derian.
Ceria is one of the companies engaged in mining and smelter development in Wolo District, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Ceria is 100% owned by Indonesian stakeholders. Apart from CSR, between 2017 to May 2018, Ceria also paid taxes and non-taxes to the state amounting IDR 105 billion.
